People Who Read Books Live Longer! Do Audio Books Count? Poll!

There is nothing like curling up and reading a good book… So I hear.  For me, I do audio books. My wife, who is an avid reader, tells me that a “book on tape” doesn’t count because it is just someone reading to you.  Well, first off, it is NOT on tape!  Hello, 1985.  And secondly, I get all the info while I am driving and mowing the lawn so I think it counts the exact same as reading it!  I guess we’ll figure out who is right and who is wrong by who lives longer!!

A new study by New York Times  found people who read books LIVE LONGER than people who don’t. The study lasted 12 years, and people who read at least a half hour a day were 23% less likely to die than people who didn’t read. They also lived about two years longer overall.

The researchers didn’t exactly give a reason why reading makes you live longer, they just said it gives you a, quote, “significant survival advantage.”

So what do you think, Is reading a book and listening to an audio book the same?
