Forecasting a hurricane, and preparing for said storm is one of the most daunting tasks of mankind.
We’re told a week in advance that the storm is going to directly affect us, then the thinking shifts.
With a hurricane like Matthew, with current maximum sustained winds near 140 mph, this isn’t a storm to take lightly.
The current forecast track has shifted west as of the 5pm advisory and that now puts much of Florida’s east coast in the cone of error.
Interestingly enough, Orlando is included in this new forecast cone. This doesn’t mean we’ll get a direct hit, but tropical storm force conditions would be possible if Matthew stayed just off shore.
Take a look below at some of the media accompanying this new advisory.
