It’s been almost 3 years since Taylor Swift released her blockbuster album, 1989 and fans are anxiously awaiting what will follow Taylor’s first full-fledged pop album.
So, with recent news that Taylor Swift is eyeing her own music streaming service, could this be a sign that she’s getting ready to release a new album on this service?
Taylor has remained vocal about streaming services and how they unfairly compensate artists for their music.
TMZ is reporting that Taylor is launching her own streaming service.
In the documents TMZ references that Taylor wants a website that will “not allow any downloadable multi-media content in the nature of audio recordings” aka you can’t illegally download her songs.
Taylor has refused to allow her music to be on streaming services such as Spotify because of the royalties being minimal to the artists who created them.
Piecing this with what Ed Sheeran mentioned in a recent interview that “Taylor probably won’t release [any music] until Christmas, because that’s the time when people buy the most records,” could Taylor be launching her new album on a streaming service only?
So far, Taylor hasn’t commented on the streaming service or any hints of a new album, however she is up there with Beyonce on dropping hints about new albums, so this could be a major hint.
Taylor also recently launched her own television channel called “Taylor Swift NOW” which is offered strictly on ATT and DirecTV customers.
It has been widely popular and most recently has aired her only performance of 2017 her “Super Saturday Night” performance at The Super Bowl.
Taylor is a smart business woman and has made every right move thus far…so time will tell what this new service is and if it has anything to do with a new album. My thoughts are that she’ll release her first single from her next album on there and see how it does before releasing an entire album.
