The University of Central Florida’s Physical Therapy program is back with the 2017 Let’s Ignite event on April 1st!

‘Let’s Ignite’ is a fun filled day with sports themed events for kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities & their families. The event is being held on April 1st, and is free to attend. There will be two sessions that day.

For each session (10-12 and 12-2): there will be a warm-up, followed by activity stations with a buddy (dpt student will be paired up with each kid to ensure safety and accommodation for their needs at all time), and the last 30 mins will be the award ceremony with medals for the kids. Parents are encouraged to leave their child in the care of the UCF buddys, who bare all certified and knowledgeable in all areas. Or they can stay and watch while relaxing.

I had the pleasure of speaking with UCF’s Physical Therapy Program’s Constanza Aranda, Erin Morton, and Cory Gonzales , about the importance of their mission and helping out the community and what to expect at the event.

If you would like to register for the event , you can do so by emailing:

Take a listen to what you can expect and spread the word to all the families and friends!
