When I was younger I could pop right out of bed, throw on my clothes, scarf down some breakfast and head to school.

Heck, even 5 years ago when I did middays, I could snap right out of bed and be to work like it was no problem.

Boy oh boy how things have changed.

I think somewhere in your mid-twenties your body’s internal clock becomes all messed up due to meetings, carpool, stress, or any other outside force and we suddenly find ourselves snoozing the alarm more and more.

Again, like every other blog post I write, I don’t have kids. So hitting snooze is totally acceptable because I don’t have a little gremlin throwing a bottle out of the crib and taking off their full diaper and playing “can it stick against a wall” at 6 in the morning.

To those people, I salute you because that takes some kind of person.

I’ll get there I’m sure, but as for now, I find myself snoozing my alarm 3 times a day.

It’s troubling to me because I’ve never been this person. My body wakes up at 7am on the dot, but my mind says, “snooze it and get another 30 minutes.”

Am I broken? Do I need to hit the reset button? Or is this the normal progression of getting older?

I really want to know!

At almost 27, I like to think I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. I workout regularly, my diet doesn’t suck, and I rarely drink anymore. (Lies. I drank a bottle of wine by accident on Wednesday night. Oops.)

Honestly, I need your help. Do you also have a problem getting out of bed in the morning?

If I find that most people hate waking up, then I guess I’m just joining the American workforce after 10 years of being in radio, but I’m just slightly concerned here.

I’ll take the results as a judgement on if I’m normal, or just turning into a lazy entitled Millennial at 27.
