I’m guilty. I spend way too long at my computers and or my phone. Technology has definitely taken a hold of my life, as I’m sure it has yours. Between toggling my tabs on the computer, or playing a game on my phone. Technology has definitely taken a toll on our lives. I recently saw an article on Buzzfeed, and this is what I got from it.

  • Staring at the computer screen for long hours, can hurt your eyes. I have definitely felt this while working. Dry eyes happen, it all slowly takes a toll, could also possibly ruin eye site. Remember that saying from your mom ‘DON’T SIT SO CLOSE TO THE TV!’. I don’t see the computer screen being any different.
  • Tension headaches can happen.
  • You don’t sleep too well. I definitely catch up on my social media when I lay down for a few minutes. But studies suggest to be technology free for at least an hour before you snooze.
  • Your cell is distracting. Have you ever left your phone at home when running out and cry about it? Yea, we’ve depended on them for way too long.I know if it’s in my hands, I’ll check messages, Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Twitter, Pinterest….anything, even the weather for next month LOL. Just to have something do to. Remember riding passenger seat in the car with your significant other and just listening to music with the window down, and enjoying the outside? Yea, me neither. Not as much as I’d like.
  • Which brings me to the next one, relationships are suffering. Not only is it rude to be on your phone in front while you have friends or a spouse, but it takes away from time with them, and honestly makes them feel like you don’t value their company. Talk more, catch up!
  • Social media on the phones and computers is wasting valuable time you can be spending with your pets! They deserve all the attention in the world, so do kids. Watch them play, play with them.
  • Technology makes it so hard to relax. Every feel like your brain is just running nonstop? That could basically be why.
  • Longer work hours. When you check your phone or social media, it obviously takes away from your work. So you’ll be there longer. Who wants that?
