Move over Dinoland U.S.A. your days could be numbered.
Recent internet rumors are pointing to a complete overhaul to the Dinoland U.S.A. part of Animal Kingdom to a more immersive land based on the popular series of Indiana Jones.
While Indiana Jones Stunt Show Spectacular is currently held over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a new installment of the film is heading to theaters in a few years time and could prove enough of a boost to warrant an entire land based on the film franchise.
Orlando Informer, a local theme park blog has stated that this new land could be coming to Disney’ Animal Kingdom after the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World.
With the recent success of Pandora: World Of Avatar, Animal Kingdom hasn’t been a part of any expansions or revamps that were announced at Disney’s D23 Expo where expansions of EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom were all announced.
Dinoland U.S.A. isn’t exactly the most popular part of Animal Kingdom, with moderate wait times on a busy day for their main attraction, Dinosaur and their other midway type attractions.
A complete overhaul could mean Dinosaur is easily transformed into a replica of California’s Indiana Jones Adventure and even perhaps a new roller coaster, similar to the Indiana Jones coaster in Disneyland Paris. Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril is a compact coaster with dips, drops, and an inversion. Definitely more thrilling than Primeval Whirl.
Disney hasn’t made any announcements yet, but Orlando Informer believes this announcement could come in 2019 or 2020, after the new Indiana Jones film is released.
