A nurse friend of mine sent me a message on Facebook this morning asking me to share some info regarding prescriptions for those who need medications.

She stated:

“My husband and I are the storm team in the ER and will be there this weekend for our scheduled days but likely unable to go home until Wednesday as relief will be hard to come by.
Having the ER filled with people who have run out of their medicines for blood pressure and other issues during times like these, really is poor utilization of our limited resources.
As long as people are aware, they can better prepare.
Any scheduled narcotics or pain meds require the prescriber to call the pharmacy but otherwise, regularly ordered medications can be filled now!

Under a state of emergency, you can get a 30 day supply of medicines, even if your prescriptions are not ready for refill.”
