If you’re a faithful Dunkin’ Donuts patron, you may soon see a smaller offering of those doughy sweet treats as the chain announced they’ll be testing a tighter menu in some locations.
Essentially, most locations currently offer 30 flavors of doughnuts, but Dunkin’ is debating on trimming that down to around 20.
Which doughnuts are getting axed is yet to be seen, but I for one will be livid if my chocolate glazed or Bavarian cream are touched!
Supposedly the offerings will be based on regional demand and customer feedback. My hope is that they’ll have a core of roughly 12-16 doughnuts with 4-5 rotating flavors each week or so.
That being said, by the end of October, the doughnut chain will offer no more than 24 doughnut varieties in some stores with most locations only having 20 varieties. Which is much more than local doughnut chains which usually offer 8-12 different flavors.
“We’ve shrunk the amount of doughnut variety and we’re seeing a lift in those markets instantly,” Dunkin’s U.S. and Canada brand president David Hoffman said to Nation’s Restaurant News.
Dunkin’ I’m warning you…touch my chocolate glazed and we’ll have to have some words. Your regular coffee is my jam though. So keep the turbo blend brewing. 🙂
