I honestly had no idea that people still used AIM. After 20 years, AOL has decided to finally pull the plug on AIM.

AOL Instant Messenger was a staple in most homes with computers. I had a tube computer, most likely a Dell. And the obnoxious noise of signing online through a telephone line to see what’s in my ‘You’ve Got Mail’ inbox ,and hear the creek of the door opening only to see that a friend has logged in, is just pure nostalgia. It was the beginning of ‘anti social’ society. As soon as we realized we didn’t have to talk, we could tell all our secrets and scandalous conversations online. Not realizing that they’re most likely still all out there lol.

All those late night conversations, and heart attacks when your crush signed in. Man those were the days. Ah well…. thanks for all the teen memories AIM!
