A tropical disturbance in the Caribbean has been upgraded to “Potential Tropical Cyclone 18” as it moves northeastward towards Cuba.

Tropical storm warnings have been issued for western Cuba and Tropical Storm watches have been issued for portions of the Bahamas as the storm is forecast to become Tropical Storm Philippe.

Current storm tracks take the storm very close if not over south Florida as a tropical storm.

By Saturday evening, the storm will begin to accelerate away from Cuba and a cold front will pick the storm up and swiftly move it out to sea. By Sunday afternoon, it should be well away from Florida.

Here in Orlando, we’re on the outer fringes of the rain, our rainfall totals will be around half an inch to an inch with breezy conditions.
