Why did Obi-Wan Kenobi die? How many calories are allowed in a “calorie free” beverage? What country is pepperoni really from? All that and more with Adam’s Fun Facts:
1. Alec Guinness didn’t like being in “Star Wars”, so he suggested to George Lucas that he should kill off the Obi-Wan Kenobi character to get him out of it!  HOWEVER, he also make a FORTUNE from the movies, because in his contract he’d negotiated to get 2.25% of Lucas’s royalties. (Wikipedia)

2. The phrases “The pen is mightier than the sword” and “It was a dark and stormy night” were both created by the same guy, a British writer from the 1800s named Edward Bulwer-Lytton. (BBC)

3. Pepperoni is an American food. In Italian, “peperoni” with one “P” is the word for bell peppers and there’s no salami named “pepperoni” with two “P’s” used as a pizza topping. (New York Times)

4. The FDA allows any product with five calories or less to be labeled “calorie free” . . . and the manufacturers are allowed to round down and put zero calories on their nutrition label. (FDA)

5. The Las Vegas Strip technically isn’t in the city of Las Vegas. It’s officially in three unincorporated areas of Clark County, Nevada called Paradise, Winchester, and Enterprise. (Wikipedia)
