It’s that time of year where most of us head back home to be with friends and family for the Christmas holiday and for me, that just means driving an hour north to Ocala.
Some drive eh? You’d be surprised… I75 is a nightmare sometimes.
Anyways, each year in my family we have a tradition, where my parents still host Christmas morning. After my brothers and sisters and their families open gifts at their homes, they come to my mom and dad’s house around 9:30-10am, and my mom has a massive Christmas breakfast waiting.
We’re talking egg casserole, hashbrown casserole, fresh doughnuts, bagels, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fruit, mimosas, coffee, you name it, she’s made it.
And each year we all have breakfast together as a family, then head into the living room to open gifts.
What I love about it is that as we grow older and we have our own families, we can still get together and enjoy a tradition like this one.
I mean, just look at my siblings…we’re all grown adults and we still act like children sometimes…but hey. That’s what family is about.
Merry Christmas from my crazy family, to yours.
