I have had Christmas in many, many cities. We moved a lot as a kid. Now that I am a father, I try to make every Christmas special and different. When asked to wrote a post about my most memorable Christmas, the 2012 came to mind. When my wife was a kid, she spent many holidays in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. She suggested we do the same with our kids and we did, in 2012!
The place we stayed at wasn’t fancy by any means, but it was very cozy. It was 2 stories ( the kids loved the stairs) and was on a mountain. There was no WiFi, only a few channels on the TV and we were warned that if there is a lot of snow, we could be stuck there! This was the first time my kids saw snow! This was the first time they experienced life without Wifi! We played board games and cooked cookies, we built a gingerbread house and road sleds down the mountains! We rode toboggans at a ski resort and drank lots and lots of hot chocolate. It was perfect!
We went again in 2015, there was no snow. It was a completely different experience, but there still was no Wifi! I suggest a trip like this to anyone with a family!
