Late last year, Universal Orlando Resort announced that the beloved Dragon Challenge (Dueling Dragons) roller coaster was being torn down to make way for a new Harry Potter attraction.

The attraction was revealed to be a family roller coaster ride but that is all that Universal has let us in on.

However, that didn’t stop the theme park fans from investigating.

Orlando Weekly has found that there are 2 rumored ride systems that Universal may choose to use for this new attraction.

One would be similar to the TRON Lightcycle Power Run Coaster currently in Shanghai and coming to The Magic Kingdom. This could be modeled after Hagrid’s motorbike and side car.

The other would be an entirely new ride for Orlando, as a suspended coaster that is capable of dark ride elements with onboard lighting and audio.

Many online forums believe the latter will be the chosen ride system to give Universal a totally unique experience.

There are 2 coasters currently in the world with this system one in Europe and the other in Dubai.
