A 8.2 magnitude earthquake overnight has triggered a tsunami warning off the coast of Alaksa and remains in effect this morning.

According to CNN, the earthquake was detected in the Gulf of Alaska approximately 175 miles southeast of Kodiak, Alaska. CNN says the tsunami warning has been issued “For southeast and south Alaska, including the Alaska peninsula and Aleutian islands, as well as British Columbia in Canada.”
