According to a new survey, the average person will only spend $34 on Valentine’s Day. Doesn’t that seem a little low?
Here are four more stats about money and relationships when it comes to Valentine’s Day:
1. 44% of people polled plan on spending absolutely nothing for Valentine’s Day this year. I hope that couch is comfortable!
2. There are four states where people spend a little more on their loved ones than the rest of the country. According to OPP Loans, those states are New Mexico, Connecticut, Missouri, and Texas. Apparently in Florida, the average amount of money we spend on Valentine’s Day is $37.33.
3. Guys spend a little more than ladies do. How much more? The average guy spends around $41, while the ladies will spend on average $26.
4. Can money buy love? Apparently so! According to PR Newswire, 90% of couples who earn at least $200,000 a year say they’re “completely” or “almost completely” satisfied with their relationship. That’s compared to just 64% of people who earn less than $30,000 a year.
