Jay Edwards
Well, it all started back in 1974, that’s when I was born in Baltimore, Maryland. I moved with my family when I was 2 to Orlando, and have lived here ever since. I attended school here in Orlando, Lake Brantley High School, Seminole Community College, and then on to UCF.
I began my radio career right here at MIX 105.1 back in 1996. I have left MIX 2 times for other gigs, but have always come back (it’s cause Scott always begs). I love it here, it’s what I have always wanted to do, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I got into radio because I was a musician and knew I wanted to do something with music, so I lost the bet and here I am working in radio.
I am married to my beautiful bride Stacie, and we are both the proud parents of Caleb and our Kiley. We have a cat named Peanut and our new Chihuahua is Chimi.
I love basketball, football, water sports, cooking, and entertaining. A few of my goals, I want to run a marathon, I want to write a book, and I want to continue writing and do stand up comedy.
Thanks for listening to us, and if you want, send me an e-mail.

It’s pretty funny with the headline about you getting a vasectomy and the picture of the man with the chain saw under the headlines!

I just want you to know I listen to you most mornings and yesterday you talked about the actual cost of being a soccer mom. I am a soccer mom and I was laughing all by myself in the car thinking about my true monetary reward should I choose to dream about it. Then I got to thinking about the additional costs of feeding those whose parents aren’t there, donating time and money to those in need or to program needs and realized there is no money amount great enough for the involved parents of any athlete. Keep me laughing, I love to start my day that way!!!!

Regarding the discussion on the Facebook notifier app, you don’t need a special app for that… as soon as you change your status, or your home town, or whatever, it shows up on the “Home Page” for everyone to see. If you don’t want anyone to see it, you simply go to your own wall and remove the post – and POOF! it’s gone. I know that firsthand because I POOF!’d mine!!

Hi Jay!
I’m a huge fan of yours and Scott’s. Question: Why doesn’t mix play Allison Iraheta’s album? I recently purchased it and think it’s amazing! In particular, I’d love to hear Scars, Don’t Waste the Pretty and Trouble Is. Would you pleeeeease play these? Thanks!

Im going crazy. I love the morning show but I will admit it I listen to a lot more on 105.1 before the morning show. I was wondering, I love “California Gurls” by Katy Perry but how can I get it with out Snoop Dog. I love the version you guys play. I really dont want to hear about A** hanging out. If you could help I would be greatly appreciate.

Hi Jay. You guys do an awesome job! Quick question: You mentioned on the air that you prepare coffee in this really fantastic way (that got everyone hooked). Do you mind sharing your recipe/method? Thank you so much! (I apologize if you already did this–I may have missed it.)

Hi Jay: On behalf of Eidson Insurance I want to thank Mix 105.1 for bringing our office Too jay’s treats. That was very nice of you. I have a favor to ask the Music song genius if you don’t mind. Can you go to Scoundrels abc.com and watch just the very beginning of that new show? There is a song that is playing during the love scene before the cops come. What is the name of that song and who sings it? Thanks

Hey Cyndi-
The song is “Kissed It” by Macy Gray from her new CD that was just released yesterday. Click here to listen to the whole CD, or just skip forward on the player for “Kissed It” if you like. Hope that helps!
I wanted to get back to you in case Jay doesn’t see this for a while. AND…I’m MUCH more of a song genius than he is!
