Listen up Directioners - actually if you’re a mega fan you probably already know - but for those of you who love the boys from across the pond a normal amount, listen up!

One Direction has been teasing a special announcement of an epic surprise planned to arrive on July 23, and the surprise has finally been revealed. July 23 is a special day for the band as it marks the day the Harry, Niall, Zayn, Louis and Liam were formed on The X Factor.

On their anniversary, a special 10 Years of One Direction website will launch, complete with a special celebration video made for their fans. The site will feature a timeline charting the history of the group, from their first audition right up to the start of their hiatus. The site will also host an archive of music videos, artwork, TV performances, behind-the-scenes and rarely-seen content, all in one place.

The band’s presence on streaming platforms will also be tidied up, launching interactive playlists and activations across digital platforms. With reformatted EPs featuring b-sides and rare songs, remixes, live recordings and acoustic versions of tracks all in one place for their  fans to rediscover.

When 1D broke onto the scene almost immediately after their time on The X Factor, the band accomplished what many try unsuccessfully and reached astronomical levels of popularity not just in the US but all over the world. Selling over 200 million records worldwide, with over 21 billion streams across all streaming platforms, the band has won nearly 200 awards including 7 BRIT Awards, 4 MTV Music Awards, 6 Billboard Music Awards, 7 American Music Awards and 28 Kids Choice Awards.

Don’t quote us on this, but we have a feeling the site might actually break the internet. What? They truly are a global phenomenon, with some of the most ride or die fans. Directioners assemble! Let the countdown begin.
