Selena Gomez Says Her First Kiss with Dylan Sprouse Was 'Worst Day of My Life'

March 9, 2020

Selena Gomez’s first kiss was very awkward.

While that may be true for many of us, Selena’s rite of passage occurred in front of a television crew.

The 27-year-old opened up about the peck during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” The “Rare” singer began by recounting how she recently returned to her childhood home and came across a note about one of her crushes.

"I had written in the closets that I was in love with Cole Sprouse," she told Clarkson. "Cole Sprouse was on 'Suite Life of Zach & Cody.' I was obsessed with that show and I thought we were going to be together one day."

Along with the object of her affection, The Disney Channel series also starred Cole’s twin brother Dylan Sprouse. Selena was on her way to making her romance dreams a reality when she scored a gig on the series.

"Then I guest starred on the show,” she said, before revealing things didn’t go as planned.

“But I kissed his brother [Dylan] and I didn't get to kiss Cole!" Selena confessed. "It was my first kiss [and] on camera!"

The innocent lip lock left her devastated.

"It was one of the worst days of my life," she jokingly added.

While the televised PDA occurred back in 2006, Selena never wound up dating Cole nor Dylan.

But once Cole got wind of Selena’s revelation he did his best to troll his brother. After Teen Vogue shared Selena’s kiss story and highlighted the quote, "It was one of the worst days of my life!," the "Riverdale" actor went on the attack. Cole commented, “@dylansprouse I can safely say I've never had a girl say this about me.”

Kiss or no kiss, the sibling rivalry runs deep.
