In light of the recent passing of Cameron Boyce, a star of the Descendants franchise, Disney Channel has announced that they will be canceling the Descendants 3 red carpet premiere that was scheduled to take place on July 22. Instead, a donation will be made by The Walt Disney Company to the Thirst Project. According to a statement by Disney, The Thirst Project is "a philanthropic organization to which Cameron was deeply committed.”

According to Variety, with permission from the Boyce family, Disney will be dedicating Descendants 3 to Cameron's memory.

Boyce, who died Saturday following an epileptic seizure, played Carlos De Vil, son of Cruella De Vil, in all of the Descendants installments.

Descendants 3 is still scheduled to debut on Disney Channel in August.
