Starting Monday, July 1, 2019, the new Florida law goes into effect that puts texting while driving as a primary offense.

Currently, you can only be ticketed for texting while driving if pulled over for another offense.

Warnings will be given up until the end of the year. After that, tickets will be issued.

The law pertains solely to texting.

There are currently only 16 states which have a total "hands free" law, including Georgia.
