2 weeks ago we were preparing for Hurricane Dorian and now 2 weeks later, we may be preparing for some sort of tropical disturbance to impact our weather this weekend.

Invest 95L is currently being investigated by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) for further development as odds are increasing that this area that is situated near the southern Bahamas could become a tropical depression and potentially the next named storm, which would be Humberto.

Because the area of weather is so close to the United States with impacts potentially this weekend, the NHC will begin issuing advisories on this area in case any watches or warnings need to be issued.

The models that the NHC uses different models to create a forecast as to where the storm may head.

Current model data has the area heading from the Gulf of Mexico to following a path very similar to Dorian a few weeks ago and never directly impacting a shoreline.

It's too early to tell where this area will go but forecasters are urging residents to have their plans ready in case the forecast turns against them.

After all, it is the peak of hurricane season and those kits should be ready to go.
