Virgin Trains USA To Cause Road Closures In East Orlando

The train is expected to begin operation between Orlando and Miami by 2022.

Virgin Trains is currently operational in south Florida and work has begun in Central Florida to connect the high-speed train to West Palm Beach.

To do so, construction crews must clear land and prepare the area that track will occupy.

Throughout August, lanes will be closed in certain areas of Orange and Brevard counties with closures occuring mostly in the evening.

From Floridatoday.com, here are the areas that will be occupied:

Eastbound Beachline (Mile Marker 34 to Mile Marker 36.5)

Weekday nighttime right lane closure from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. from Monday through Aug. 31.

Weekend nighttime right lane closure from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. from Monday through Aug. 31.

Westbound Beachline (Mile Marker 43 to Mile Marker 43.5)

Daytime right lane closure from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday through Aug. 29.

Westbound Beachline on-ramp from southbound Industry Road

Continuous right shoulder closures from Monday through Aug. 30.

Westbound Beachline off-ramp to northbound Industry Road

Continuous right shoulder closures from Monday through Aug. 30.
