There's A New Term Called "Wegifting" And Chances Are You're Guilty Of It

December 2, 2019

Are you the type of person that truly feels that it's better to give than receive?  Is it because when you buy for others, you have yourself in mind too? Don't worry, you're not the only one that does this.

There's a new term called "WEGIFTING"and 74% of us have done it, according to the NY Post. What exactly is it? "Wegifting" is when you buy someone a present that you also fully plan on using yourself.

For example, maybe you bought a new gaming system for the living room and claimed it was for your kids.  However, you were the one who wanted it and plan on using it just as much.

22% of people plan on giving at least one "wegift" present this year and the most common person we give them to is our partner or spouse.  55% of people in the survey said they've been the recipient of a "wegift" before and 35% said they've received something that the gift-giver seemed to use and enjoy more than they did.
