Make Magic Kingdom Chesire Cat Tails At Home!

What an easy copy cat recipe!

April 20, 2020

What seems like many moons ago, CJ and I went and spent a day at Magic Kingdom and we were adamant about trying the treats we’ve never tried before. THIS being one of them. It seems everytime I go, I never get to the Cheshire Café in time. This time we made it a priority.

The moment we got one, it was delicious! Flakey pastry with a bit of chocolate on the inside and swirled frosting on the top. So simple, but SO good.

Of course now that we are in quarantine, and missing all the treats from Disney World. Im so glad there have been many recipes for copy cat treats.

So here it is!

  • 2 pastry sheets (crescent sheets suggested)
  • Chocolate chips
  • 1 egg
  • Butter
  • Confectioner’s sugar
  • Milk

Seems simple enough right!?

Start by preheating the oven as stated on the pastry can. Unroll both of the sheets. Unroll both pastry sheets, and grease the sheet pan. Place one unrolled pastry sheet on the pan and cover it with chocolate chips, then cover with the other sheet. Slice it into 6 strips, and then twist each strip , pinching them at the end. Whisk you egg, and brush the cat tails. Bake for the amount of time that’s on the package.

While it’s baking, you have enough time to make your frosting. Using 2 tablespoons of butter, slowly mix in some confectioners’ sugar until it turns into a ball. Then add a tablespoon of milk, or more depending on how you like your frosting consistency. It should be thin enough to drizzle over the cat tails. Then add food coloring, depending on which color you’d like!

Drizzle the cat tails when they pop out of the oven and you’re all set! Remember to let them cool a bit.

Thanks to Chip and Co. for this awesome recipe!
